The problem of utilization of the municipal solid wastes is a real issue nowadays around the world as the cities become bigger and the populations are growing, meaning that the quantities of the wastes produced grow ever day as well. This proposal is dedicated to resolve this issue providing an opportunity not to build waste fields around the cities, but to support the development and growth of the cities, towns and regions.
The proposed method of utilization can allow to achieve a wide range of goals related to utilization and processing of MSW, like:
- Gasification is a time-
tested technology which is reliable and flexible, converting carbon- containing materials, including waste and biomass, into electricity and other valuables, such as chemicals, fuels, substitute natural gas and fertilizer. - Gasification doesn’t involve burning (combustion). Instead of it, it uses a little quantity or no oxygen at all in a closed reactor, converting carbon-
containing materials into synthetic gas (syngas). - The carbon-
containing materials are processed at a molecular level. - No need to burn or to use landfilling.
- Gasification is successfully used for more than 75 years in refining, fertilizer production, chemical industry, and more than 35 years in power generating.
- The gasification plant is a good source of new jobs, new businesses, development of the region.
The basic parameters of the waste reprocessing plant: MSW consumption – up to 440,000 kg per day, Power Generation – up to 20MWH. The main facility of the plant is the gasifier, converting the MSW into synthesis-
The scheme of MSW utilization and power generation.

The scheme does not include produced CO2 and available remains suitable for secondary commodities and products, whichare a significant part of the project allowing to develop the plant and to utilize it in the most efficient way.
Today we have developed a complete line of the plants of different scale, consuming 250 tons of MSW per day, 440 tons per day and 750 tons per day. Such a differentiating allows to build the plant from the “blocks” of the capacity required to achieve the goals set.
All the examples of technology/pictures/diagrams are related to the plant with 440 tons/day capacity.
The Scheme of the Gasifier
Produced synthesis-
The gasifier can be utilized with the existing power plants to reduce the cost of electricity production, to reprocess the MSW without any special separation, usually required.
The result of the work of such a gasifier is the power, heat and remains which can be efficiently used for production of secondary products demanded.

Comparison of the pollution levels accordingly with the US norms and requirements applicable to such facilities.

The parameters of the basic plant:
Required land for construction and operating – 4-
MSW consumption capacity – up to 440,000.00 kg/day
Power generation capacity – up to 20MWH
Heat generation capacity – up to 20 MWH
Required staff (approximately) – ~ 50 specialists
Basing on the experience in US and calculated data for the plants in Turkey, Cameroon and Ukraine, the estimated payback period of the plant is 3-
The exact cost will be determined after necessary studies, evaluation of the secondary production facilities to be installed.
